HERA UK announces start of international competition for grants to women entrepreneurs
HERA UK announces the launch of the second international competition for grants to women entrepreneurs in Armenia, Georgia, Moldova, Romania and Ukraine. Any female entrepreneurs in one of these five countries may participate in the competition in order to obtain the necessary funds to cover the costs of capital development, costs for the acquisition of equipment and the development of the enterprise. Participating women must demonstrate the contribution of their work in tackling dangerous migration and trafficking in human beings in the region.
In the five countries will be offered 40 grant amounts of EUR 500 on average (the grant amount varies from EUR 200 to EUR 1550) to female entrepreneurs selected according to one of the following three categories:
1. Young female entrepreneurs (aged up to 30) who have migrated across borders and who, after returning, established their own economic activity in the country;
2. Women entrepreneurs who have set up a micro or small enterprise and plan to hire and/or involve young women, potential victims of dangerous migration and/or trafficking in human beings;
3. Young people who will develop an innovative idea to combat trafficking in human beings and dangerous migration in their country.

The competition will end on Wednesday 30 April at midnight. The preliminary selection will take place until 1 June. Proposals will be evaluated and prizes awarded by 1 August 2014. Winners will receive on-line help a mentor, technical support and advertising for their company on HERA website.
