As of 1 September, small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) can apply for funding to procure a wide range of production equipment under the SME Sector Support and Development Programme to promote structural economic adjustment efforts. The programme launched by the Ministry of Economy is financed from the resources of the Japan – Transit I – IV Grant Partner Fund and has a total budget of 7 mln.lei.

Through the Entrepreneurs Programme, it will be possible to purchase production equipment under leasing arrangements for a period of one year without a pledge, with leasing interest at a zero rate. Also, when procuring the equipment, the zero rate for value-added tax will be applied, but also exemptions for carrying out customs procedures.

The beneficiaries will pay the value of the equipment in several instalments, the advance constituting 25 % of its price. If the beneficiaries, under the leasing contract, pay 60 % of the price of the equipment on the terms laid down, 40 % of the price of the equipment will be offered as a grant by the Government of the Republic of Moldova.

Applications for participation in the Programme shall concern procurements with a minimum value of RON 500.000 and a maximum value of RON 1.000.000.

All purchases under the Programme will be made by the UK company Crown Agents, authorised for procurement, which is active for and on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Moldova.

The submission period for the set of documents required for participation in the Programme is 01-19 September 2014.
