Call for Engagement for Technical Experts in the Republic of Moldova
The EU4Environment action (EU Regional Programme for the Environment, funded by the European Union) is looking for two professionals for expert roles in Resource Efficiency and Better Manufacturing (RECP) in Moldova.
Within EU4Environment, and in collaboration with its national partner for RECP (ODIMM) assessments and training, the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) is looking for two professionals (an industrial engineer and an energy efficiency engineer) for technical expert positions to implement and promote the RECP methodology that UNIDO is launching in the Republic of Moldova. The two experts will work in the ODIMM team in Chisinau.
Role description
Under the supervision of the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation (UNIDO) and as part of its National RECP Training and Evaluation Partner (ODIMM) team, the selected holders will support and monitor the implementation of the RECP methodology in selected Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) in the Republic of Moldova.
Experts will carry out on-site visits, prepare, support and contribute to RECP training sessions, identify and propose opportunities to implement the RECP methodology in selected companies. As part of the training and evaluation programme, they will lead the monitoring of the RECP evaluations in the selected companies (which have already carried out evaluations as part of the programme EaP GREEN funded by the EU in 2013-2017) and will lead the RECP assessments that RECP trainees (identified by ODIMM and UNIDO) will then carry out. At the end of this process, experts will produce full technical reports (in English and Romanian). Based on both streams of activities, they will also prepare draft reports that will be used to develop individual business cases (the latter will demonstrate the successful implementation of the RECP methodology in Moldovan companies).
Tasks and responsibilities
The two selected holders will
1. Update training materials;
2. Actively contribute and develop progress reports for each training and coaching session of the programme;
3. Monitor and report on the implementation of RECP measures in 10 companies EaP GREEN
3. Leads assessments and produces progress reports for 15 demonstration companies;
4. Monitor the implementation of the RECP measures in 15 SMEs and prepare reports to prepare 15 business cases demonstrating the successful application of the RECP methodology.

Profile of holders (qualifications required)
• Work experience of at least 7 years, of which at least 5 years in the required field of expertise (energy efficiency, industry, environmental/energy management systems, cleaner production/industrial processes or technological optimisation);
• Experience of working with SMEs/manufacturing;
• Knowledge of Romanian (written and spoken) and a good knowledge of English;
• Experience in developing audits related to industrial energy efficiency;
• I am a citizen of the Republic of Moldova and I live in the Republic of Moldova.
