98 Investment projects of migrant workers approved for financing
Deputy Prime Minister, Octavian Calmâc, Minister for Economic Affairs, noted that the PARE 1+ 1 Programme enjoys increased interest from migrant workers and their relatives, as confirmed by the increasing number of applications for funding. While 280 requests to participate were registered at the start of the Programme in 2012, there were 1,598 requests at the end of 2015.
“By supporting migrants’ investment projects not only develop the business environment in the country but also restore the human potential of home, especially young people. This also confirms our analyses, of which we found that 49.5 % of the applications for financing are submitted by start-ups and 51.5 % are scaled up enterprises, and by age 50 % of business managers are aged up to 35 years,” said the Minister of Economy.
At the end of the meeting, the Committee decided to launch the collection of requests for non-repayable funding under the “PARE 1+ 1” programme for 2016.
According to a survey conducted by the IMMO, during the PARE 1+ 1 Programme, access to finance was facilitated for 612 enterprises, which made investments in the economy amounting to lei 350 mln, of which lei 133 mln were the sum of the grants transferred under the Programme.
