28 May 2024, ChisinauThe Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union, through the Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA), facilitated the signature of grant contracts with 23 entrepreneurs in various fields. The total amount of financing granted amounts to lei 7.3 million, with planned investments in the economy amounting to lei 14 million.

Companies applied for funding for a wide range of equipment and equipment needed for their business development, as well as for the implementation of software services and solutions to optimise management and production processes.

During the event, Deputy Director ODA, Nina Potg, highlighted the organisation’s commitment to facilitate and support entrepreneurs in accessing finance and implementing their projects. Stressed the importance of these initiatives in the development of the local economy and expressed confidence in the success of beneficiary businesses. Nina Potg also highlighted the role of collaboration between the Moldovan government, the European Union and the Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship in promoting an economic environment conducive to innovation and growth.

The companies awarded grants obtained funding through several entrepreneurial support programmes managed by ODA:

The Start programme for Youth 3 beneficiaries

Female Entrepreneurship Support Programme 8 beneficiaries

A programme for attracting remittances to the economy “PARE 1+ 2” 3 beneficiaries

SME Digital Transformation Programme 4 beneficiaries

Programme to increase export competitiveness and internationalisation of SMEs 4 beneficiaries

Greening programme for Small and Medium Enterprises 1 beneficiary

One of the 23 winning companies is S.R.L. “OFTACRISTAL”, a intalmoological clinical established in 2021 by Doina Bobescu in the City of Ungheni. In order to expand and become competitive on the international market, the company intends to invest in an optical totomograph (OCT). Doina Bobescu applied to The Women’s Entrepreneurship Support Programme, launched in spring this year, and won a grant of lei 600.000.

We would point out that since the beginning of the year, the Organisation for the Development of Entrepreneurship (ODA) has registered a total of 228 companies that received grants through various entrepreneurial support programmes. They amounted to lei 100.3 million in total.

The programmes are financed by the Government of the Republic of Moldova and the European Union through ODA.
