Japan will continue to provide support to Moldovan entrepreneurs
A new technical assistance project for the SME sector for the period 2019-2021 was launched with Japanese support. Its main purpose is to expand specialised business advice at national level. Services will be provided through the Business Advisory and Assistance Centre, the Business Incubators Network of Moldova, managed by ODIMM and local public authorities.
At the opening session of the Technical Assistance project, the expert of the Japan Agency for International Cooperation Takashi Kimura reiterated the support of the Government of Japan for improving the business environment in the Republic of Moldova. At the same time, the proposed and coordinated aim and objectives of the actions to be carried out with the ODSME leaders were presented.
The Acting Director General of ODIMM, Petru Gurgurov, thanked the Nipone side for the support provided to SMEs in the Republic of Moldova. “With the creation of the Business Assistance and Consultancy Centre, our institution has received an effective tool to support potential entrepreneurs and SMEs, who are in the expansion phase or accessing external markets. Expanding these services to the regional level will allow beneficiaries to have access to information and advice in all 11 business incubators in the RIAM network”.
The Parties welcomed previous projects to develop advisory services, implemented by ODIMM, with technical assistance from the Japan Agency for International Cooperation.
ODIMM benefited from Technical Assistance from Japan’s Agency for International Cooperation for the Development of Business Advisory Services. In 2012, the Business Advisory and Assistance Centre was set up. The support of Japanese experts was necessary to develop the concept and operating mechanism of the Advisory Centre. In 2015, they contributed to the drafting of the Administrative Manual of the Business Incubators Network of Moldova, as well as the Manual of the Standardised Advisory Service.
