SME development
in tourism
The program supports the promotion and facilitation of tourism and entrepreneurship activities, the creation of new businesses, the increase of income in the tourism and related sectors, including the promotion and export of tourism products and services specific to the Republic of Moldova.
The support program for the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of tourism has the following specific objectives:
To promote tourism as an attractive destination, both nationally and internationally. Development of marketing and promotion campaigns and collaboration with the business community, development partners and other stakeholders;
Stimulating the development of small and medium-sized tourism entrepreneurs. This includes facilitating access to finance, providing technical assistance and advice (including maintaining cultural authenticity) and promoting entrepreneurship;
Improving the quality of tourism services;
Developing the necessary infrastructure, building or upgrading accommodation, leisure facilities or transport infrastructure, including in rural areas.

The non-reimbursable financing offered through the Program is up to 70% of the amount of the investment project and the own contribution will be minimum 30%.

Applicants, at the time of application to the Program, carry out entrepreneurial activity in tourism or related activities with potential for organizing tourism activities on the territory of the Republic of Moldova, in first level administrative-territorial units: villages, communes, as well as towns with a population of up to 30 000 inhabitants (according to the last population and housing census), which includes development of tourism product, tourism infrastructure, tourist accommodation and/or catering activities, leisure activities.
The grant is to be used for one or more of the following activities:
- Reconstruction/modernisation/equipment of accommodation and/or food establishments and leisure establishments for tourism;
- Access for people with special needs;
- Restoration and refurbishment of rooms, furniture and equipment in accordance with the principles of respect for cultural authenticity, including preservation of the spirit of rural settlements in the Republic of Moldova;
- Fitting out of premises / purchase of equipment for leisure and sports activities, purchase and placement (installation and related services) of tourist signs;
- Design, architectural and consultancy services for maintaining a certain style of tourist accommodation units and the equipment and tools used;
- Purchase of themed items for the provision of tourist services;
- Improvement of the digital infrastructure;
- Promotional activities and products, such as online campaigns, printed materials, tourist signage items, destination marketing and promotion actions and materials, organisation of infotourses;
- Specialised training, certifications relevant to tourism, memberships in organisations specialised in the field
